I love drawing and coloring and cutting things out, I love sewing and painting and making a nice big mess doing it all! that is what I am up to tonight; working on a layout for July and just totally enjoying the playing and creating with my hands. Then there are times when I completely love reducing and re-sizing my images, duplicating layers and playing with the science of good shadows. I really enjoy the way digi scrapping lets me work with my mind. This is why most often I mix it all up and scrap hybrid. The best of both worlds I like to call it :)
I have been getting quite a few sweet emails in the past couple of weeks asking me how I do what I do; the way I print my layouts, how I mix things up etc. and I was thinking maybe it would be best of I give some of those answers here. So if you have any hybrid questions for me, throw 'em in the comments of this post! I will gather up my emails and anything else that comes up here by Friday night and get answering as well as I can!
here's to happy creativity!

CD, is there any chance you can give us a step-by-step demonstration of how you complete a layout start to finish? You know, like how CK does it in the website?
I'd love to see at which parts of the process you are computing and which parts you are getting dirty.
A couple of unrelated questions:
I had assumed you'd probably become a contributing editor with CK and have your own column but was surprised in the April issue not to find an article by you. Are there any plans for you to have your own column?
AND, is it hard to run two blogs on scrapbooking? I only just found this blog today.
I have so many more questions for you but I'll throw them at you gradually ;)
I have the same question as Noell... I would love to see a step-by-step process of the different techniques you use and what is digital and what is the touchable(hehehhe) products.
Your layouts are soooooooo amazing and beautiful!!!! Truly Inspirational :D
Hh and, last year when you entered the HOF and got the HM, did you use the same layouts to enter the SOY contest, since the 10 layouts were still a secret (hadn't been shown yet). I didn't win or get an HM for HOF (but I loved it anyways!!!) and I want to enter SOY...any advice?!?!
Oh yay! I've been wanting to know your secrets! It's hard for me to tell which elements are real, and which are digital on your layouts. I want to know how you do the layering - sometimes you have digital elements on top of real ones: for example, a digi paint stroke on top of a piece of cardboard. How the heck do you do that?? LOVE your hybrids!
Hi CD~
I have a couple of questions to add:
1) What does CD stand for?
and
2) Are you using CRAYONS to color in some of your doodle flowers & the green grass hills on your "Beauty" LO???
I just love the look, they may be digi elements, but I haven't taken the digi plunge yet.
Thanks for taking the time!!!
Giddy Up! I'm thrilled to see you'll be answering some questions here. You know, CK should totally have you do an article on this.
My questions are the same as the others'. Which parts are "real" and which are digi? Is the stitching real? The paint? Or does it vary, layout to layout?
I absolutely love poring over your layouts, trying to figure it out. The detail is just amazing.
I'll be checking back to find out!
I'm totally new here and totally dying to know how the heck you created such a beautiful blog, with BLOGGER?! Beautiful stuff girl!
Hey CD - I'm sooo new to digi scrapping that I don't even know where to start with questions - I am taking a course next month with Renee Pearson and that should get the ball rolling. Just had to let you know that I love your work - your style is so colorful and peaceful. Enjoy your babies, your work and your world, CD!

Hey CD,
I emailed you ad just realized your answering hybrid questions here. Yeah!!
I do digi and paper. Sometimes I put easy premade embellishments on top of digital LO's I have printed but I am noticeing people printing digi elements, cutting them and adding them to LO's.
How do you do it? Are your final LO's digi with your own extra elements scanned in? if so what kind of paper do you print on?
DYING TO KNOW!
Thanks CD

I agree that Hybrid is the best of both worlds! I have been dying to learn how to do it. I feel it will really enhance my papercrafting. I really want to get into making my own PP's, embellishments and adding cool effects to my photos...I am starting to teach myself but it's a slow process for me.
My question for you is...how ever did you create such an amazing looking Blog? I too am on Blogger and am somewhat challenged in this area. My blog looks BLAH! I know you created yours digitally and would really like to know how!
This may be the dumbest question ever, but do you have to have a 12 x 12 printer to do digi or hybrid (assuming you prefer 12 x 12 albums, that is). Are there people who do 12 x 12 digi layouts and then just leave them on the computer and view them there? Digital/hybrid seem like great ways to go, but I can't get past the basic issues!
Hi...I love you work!! You really have inspired me to start doing digital layouts. The only problum is I don't know where to start? (I have photoshop elements 4) : ( I love the layout you did on page 80 of the April Creating Keepsakes Magazine!!! Could you please tell us how you complete a layout and what you need?
Thanks so much!
First, your work is simply beautiful and I am inspired to begin to at least THINK about trying out some easy digi stuff. Can you point a total beginner to digital in the right direction? I mean, it will have to be BASIC. But if I could even get close to doing such beautiful layouts as you do, then I will jump in and give it a try. Congratulations on your SOY win--a truly deserved award.
