today I Get Over IT !

I have been thinking today about something very important. Pictures. It is just so important to step up and take them! I so often feel like I am being a bother to people and even though I do get plenty of candid shots that capture life around, I pass up the chance to get good pictures of our friends or family members who may not enjoy having a "look up and smile pretty" photo-op. Or I don't simply re-take the one that may not have turned out very nicely even though my digital screen shows me the results right away. I am too concerned about being a pain-in-the-butt. Today is the day I want to Get Over IT! feel free to join me, I guarantee you will never regret having those precious photos. But you will regret NOT having them. Think of your grandparents, cousins, good friends, how many times have you been together and taking photos of maybe the kids or the cake and these very important people end up not there nearly often enough in your photo albums! Look through your files or albums right now, who is missing? Please please join me in making a conscious effort to change this. The time is now, we just don't know how long any of us have to be together.

I am going to be accountable to you all and show you in a month or two all of the wonderful people in my life I have captured forever in photos.

:) smiles to you, enjoy the day!

Hi!
I know what you mean...I am constantly taking pictures when my family gets together (cousins, grandparents, kids, ect...) but after awhile they sort of tune me out. My favorite thing to capture is the candid, unposed moments. And, I usually make gifts for them using the pictures I took and they really enjoy them! So, don't worry about being a pain - take the pictures! You'll be so glad you did!!! :-)

I'm with ya! I visited my grandparents this summer and just couldn't bring myself to ask them to pose for photos. I've been kicking myself ever since. You just never know how much longer you are going to have them around. Next summer...pictures.
I also struggle with stepping out there, and being conspicuous, to get those good pics at events. I want to get over that too!

I understand completely!

My shyness was obliterated through work (in PR) where I simply HAD to get up front and get the right photos or else...! My job was on the line (no pressure, eh??) if the photos were crap.

My immediate family puts up with me, and I do get weird looks from the rest of the relations, but ya know what? At least my pix are decent!!

I'm with ya! My grandmother died suddenly and unexpectedly last year. Imagine my shock and delight when I developed an unknown roll of film right before Christmas and discovered some pictures of her and my grandfather with my kids!! I made them sit through several shots, and they probably didn't want to, but now I am so glad that I did!!

I hear ya!! We must not forget ourselves in the photos too!! I hate my phot being taken but I hate it even more to think that my kids would not have any of me...just like I don't have any of my mother...So be the pain in the butt and take those photos!!! I sound so confident, but man am I lacking....hears to changing!!!!
